John Wesley York

John “Johnny” Wesley York, 70, of Morrisville died on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Rex Hospital due to complications from Leukemia. John was born on January 30, 1942 to Jessie Monroe York and Lee Pet Coward York in Randolph Co. NC. He retired from IBM after 34 years of service.

John loved his family, friends, community, outdoors, helping others, and his backhoe. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morrisville and Carpenter Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Pugh York; daughters: Deborah York Register and husband Ted of Greensboro, and Dara York Haney and husband Ken of Raleigh; grandchildren: Taylor Register Logan and husband Luke, Dereck Register, Cobe Haney and Kenna Haney; sister, Jean Harrelson of Randleman, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Morrisville, 209 Church St., Morrisville, NC.

Burial will be1:00 pm Friday, November 23, 2012 in Gray's Chapel UMC Cemetery, 5056 NC #22 North, Franklinville, NC 27248.
