I will miss Jesse on this earth.  He was part of a small group of us at The Shepherd's Church who all lost our spouses in the same time frame. We formed a "breakfast club", meeting monthly at a restaurant and sharing support for each other as we grieved our way through our loss. We got to know each other quite well. Jesse made us laugh a lot.  He made sure that the wait staff knew he liked his bacon crisp! He also connected with them on a deeper level, lingering after the meal to chat with them and leaving them with a Christian tract. Such a gentle and sociable person. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Upon learning of Jesse's passing my first reaction was one of sorrow.  But sorrow soon gave way to a smile.  Thinking of Jesse is a pleasant journey down memory lane.  You cannot remember Jessie without thinking of Geraldine.   They were the dynamic duo; She the prayer warrior, He the doer of the work. 

When considering Jesse Fort, the man, words of the poet come to mind.  "There's the wonder of sunset at evening, the wonder of sunrise I see. But the wonder of wonders that thrill my soul is the wonder that GOD loves me." G. B. Shea.  So, we say to Jesse, " I'll be seeing you soon my dear friend."  Lloyd and Mary Solis

I first met Jessie at Shepherds while we pulled usher duty. My first impression was here was a true gentleman. He always had a kind word and was very interested in you. I also was impressed with his impeccable dress, not flashy but reflective of his personality. I remember meeting him and Geraldine at the bowling alley in Cary and was blown away by Geraldine’s ability with that bowling ball. As the years progressed and Jessie became ill, I truly missed him at church. So while I will miss him, he now can rejoice to see his beloved and the One who truly loved and saved him.

I remember the trip to the Creation Museum with Jesse and Geraldine.  They were such fun to be with. Then Jesse joined the church choir and was such a blessing and good friend.  He was always  good  at encouraging and a good hand shake or hug. I miss you.  Linda Pope

I remember well Jesse making the bacon at the men’s breakfast and not only good food but good fellowship as well. 

Jesse is celebrating Christmas with Jesus and Geraldine, and I can’t fathom how joyful that must be. Jesse encouraged our family every chance he had. He served his Brothers food and immense friendship and will be greatly missed. We will be praying for Jesse’s family this Christmas!

Brother Jesse was a special man, and I was blessed to know him.  He loved the Lord and always took the time to share a word of encouragement with anyone God placed in his path.  I recall him saying over and over, "God doesn't make no mistakes" and reminding all of us to keep our trust in God's plan.  He missed sweet Geraldine immensely, and loved his family.  I rejoice that he is with his Lord and Savior and his cherished Geraldine.  My condolences to the Fort family.  God bless, Melissa Dement
