Jennifer Fears Moore, 53, of Apex, NC, peacefully passed on July 15, 2024, surrounded by her husband and four loving children. She was born on February 19, 1971, in Summit, New Jersey, to Charles Clayton Fears and Rosemary Winifred Ryan, and was raised in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
Jennifer loved spending time outdoors and hiking throughout North Carolina. She was an avid adventurer, whether watching sunrises on the NC coast, traveling the Caribbean Islands, skiing in Jackson Hole, or rappelling down waterfalls in Costa Rica. She loved to sing Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” to her family on their special days, welcomed each New Year with inspirational speeches and quotes, and made each holiday magical with her festive decorations. Jennifer, John, and their children embraced adventure and enjoyed living in New York, Georgia, New Jersey, Tennessee, Texas, and their home in North Carolina. Each home was filled with adventure and lasting friendships, especially with their special lifelong friends from Tennessee.
Jennifer excelled as both an all-star soccer and basketball player in high school. Her passion for soccer extended beyond her playing years as she became a beloved soccer coach, inspiring and mentoring her children and other young athletes with her expertise and enthusiasm. She is a graduate of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, and Syracuse University, where she obtained a Master's Degree. Her dedication and hard work extended into her professional life, where she demonstrated a deep commitment to working with seniors. As the Chief Operating Officer at Carillon Assisted Living, Jennifer's leadership and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on the organization and the lives of those she served.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Donald J. Moore. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Moore, and their four beautiful children: Shannon Moore of Wilmington, NC, Meaghan Moore and husband Matthew Cunningham of Sanford, NC, Connor Moore, and Brennan Moore of Apex, NC. She is also survived by her parents, Charles and Rosemary Fears of Scotch Plains, NJ, her three brothers Chuck, Edward, and Chris Fears, sisters-in-law Linda, Pam, and Sandy. Her mother-in-law Mildred Moore, her in-laws Joe and Nancy Moore, Donna Moore, Sally and Mike DeGeorge, Edward and Lori Moore, Theresa and Steve Strassberger, Mary and Steve DelMedico, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andrea Sitlinger, Amy Tomenga, PA, and the phenomenal nurses and aides at Duke Cancer Center, 9200 and 10B Unit, for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Jennifer and her family.
