Helen was born July 11, 1931 in Santa Maria, Azores to the late Manuel Morais and Virgina Moura Morais.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McGarrity.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Kiegiel and her husband, John of Apex; son, Michael McGarrity and his wife, Mary Pat of Cheshire, CT; grandson, Sean McGarrity; sister, Lydia Bairos; and brother, Manuel Morais.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11am Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Road, Apex, NC 27502. Burial will follow the service at Apex Cemetery.
