I was so sorry to hear of the passing of both Tony and Gisela.
They were such a wonderful couple and I got to know them through my partner, Sandy Alderton, whom they knew from Flanders, N.J.  They were always so hospitable to us when we would visit my family in N. Carolina, and I kept hoping I could visit them on my next trip to Raleigh.   However, unfortunately, this cannot happen now and I do send my sincere condolences to the entire family for this great loss. Janet Brady

The Palmer family is heartbroken to hear of this amazing lady’s passing. My parents met Tony and Gisela while they lived in Treyburn and were immediately fast friends. Gisela was one of the warmest and most sincerely kind people I’ve ever known. This is a picture from my parents Treyburn party in 2016 and will be how I will always remember her. Always smiling and quick to make you smile. Please let Tony know they are thinking of him now and want to express their deepest sympathies.

What special memories I have of Tante Gisela.  We lived in the same apartment complex in the 60's but it is the memories at the Swim and Sport Club that I hold close to my heart.  Aunt Gisela was one of my favorite aunts and I have such wonderful memories of laughing and eating and playing g with Patty Jackie Danny at the club.  I think she was the reason we all had so many wonderful summers there.   We were lucky enough to get together in Summer 2019. Here is a photo of all of us.  This is my last get together with Gisela and how fitting it was at the club.  You are a special part of the foundation of my childhood that I will never forget.  I can still hear your voice and your laugh. Rest in peace xo   Condolences to you Uncle Tony.  The love between you two was beautiful and will always be.

My wife Carol (now departed) and I were the first people Gisela met when they moved from Germany into the same apartments we lived in West Caldwell NJ in 1964. Our kids grew up together there first and later during times spent at the German club in Flanders NJ. We (along with Lenny and Mary Jane Smith) became great friends and spent many wonderful times together. We all also can attest to her cooking skills and heart-warming personality! I shall miss her greatly!

Frank and I are so sorry to hear of Gisela’s passing,  We have  fond memories of our cousins get togethers. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

When I was a little kid, I remember walking into Anthony and Gisela's home and being hit with a wall of smells. The food that was being made in the kitchen had warmed the whole house and the aromas coming out of there were incredible.  She would come out of the kitchen and always greeted us with the warmest of smiles and softest of hugs.  

 Gisela would sneak me little samples of the food because I would often be poking around the kitchen asking if I could help but really only wanting a snack.   She was always so kind and one of the best hostess.  really the life of the party telling stories and laughing heartily.  It will be her laugh that sticks with me.  

 It is an inspiration to see two family members who had such a long happy marriage to one another.   It seems few people make it to the end of their lives loving their spouse and I see that Antony and Gisela were dedicated to one another and shared a deep bond until the very last moment.   This life long bond is something to strive for.  

She was a wonderful woman and I feel grateful to have known and loved her.

Gisela was always a lot of fun besides being a great cook and good bridge player.  We have so many fond memories of good times together.  Our deepest sympathy to Tony and family.

I so very saddened to hear about Gisela passing.  When I lived at Treyburn we shared many happy moments together.  Her love of cooking was  especially remembered with so many dinners and happy occasions in her home.   She was a great friend to myself and to so many neighbors who shared her many gifts.  I will miss her, she is my prayers along with Tony and her loving family.

I remember all the good times we enjoyed at Treyburn. Gisela’s cooking and baking skills were always appreciated by her friends.

I was so happy to be invited with Rita to their 60th wedding anniversery it was so nice to see family and friends who truley loved them. It was special to see how much Tony and Giesla love each other.

So many many happy and wonderful memories Lenny and I shared with Gisela (and Tony ) over these years, since we first met in 1966(?)…I am so happy to have had her as a close friend and to have been considered part of the family .  Love and prayers to all, Mary Jane ❤️
