George Clissold

George was born on October 12, 1935 in Joplin, Missouri to the late John and Caroline Clissold. George truly valued his family and enjoyed hosting gatherings of friends, friends of friends and even an occasional stranger. He loved the outdoors, whether it be a walk on the beach, body surfing, skiing, tennis or biking with the grandkids. He was our #1 cheerleader. He lived life to the fullest with adventures and literally travelled around the world. George worked for Forbes magazine in New York City as advertising executive for more than 25 years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother John Clissold.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Claudia Clissold; children, Genevieve Rockett, Lori Clissold, and son George Cedric Clissold II.; grandchildren, Madeline Rockett, George Rockett, Kyle Rockett, Sarah Mayer, Brittany Lichter; Great grandchildren Jax Mayer, June Lichter. Nephews Tod Clissold & John Clissold.

A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Cary, NC on Saturday January 14th, 2023 at 1:30 pm with a reception following. All are welcome.
