Daniel Everette Thomas Sr.

Dan was born Aug 22,1939 in Pelzer, SC. Upon leaving High School, Dan served in the Navy for 2 years, then his beloved Marines for 4 years. After the military, Dan pursued a very successful career in sales, he worked for Albany Felt Company in Albany, NY. He moved his family to Cary, NC in 1975. Upon retirement Dan returned to SC, where he pursued what he loved most, plants. Dan had recently moved back to Cary where he lived with his daughter, Teresa, until his passing.

Dan was preceded in death by his father “Zeke” Thomas, mother Sarah Thomas, sister Dot Mayfield and brother in law Clarence Mayfield.

He is survived by his son Daniel E. Thomas, Jr, and wife, Sheila; Daughter, Teresa Thomas Montague, mother of his children Juanita Boyce Thomas; Brother George Thomas (wife Juanita), Sister Jane Tennihill (husband Harold); Grandchildren Bryant Thomas (wife Barbie), Hunter Thomas, Harvey L Montague (HL), Dexter Montague (wife Morgan), Trevor Montague (wife Bryles), and Tyler Montague (wife Kirby); step grandchildren Courtney Russo (husband Alan) and Craig Johnson (wife Whitney); great grandchildren Jones Montague, Woodson Montague, Margot Montague, Sebastian Thomas, Sadie Johnson, and Teddy Russo.

He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 15 at Pelzer Presbyterian Church at 200 Lebby St Pelzer, SC. Receiving of friends will be at 2:00 and Memorial at 3:00.
