Benjamin “Ben” Foster Davis, age 29, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in an automobile accident. He was born on August 11,1995 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC; he was the son of Michael E. Davis and Julie Foster Davis, of Apex, NC, big brother to Elizabeth Davis, of Raleigh, NC. He was the grandson of Jean and Van Davis of Cary, NC, Sam and Ann Foster of Sparta NC, and nephew of Matt and Melody Foster of Laurel Springs NC, Also, nephew to Andrew Davis of South Hill, Va.
Ben was a graduate of Apex HS, class of 2013. He was a fun-loving young man who never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends deeply and was always there for any of them. He loved hunting, fishing, sports, and anything with an engine. He owned his own business building custom cars, hot rods, race cars, repairing construction equipment or anything else his customers needed. He also worked for a disaster recovery business to keep cell towers operating. While we were taking cover, he was headed into the storm.
During Ben’s younger years, he was active from the day he was born. Ben played Apex Pop Warner football where he met some of his lifelong friends and found he had many “other” parents. Ben loved to play in the creek, ride lawnmowers, bikes, motorcycles, and go-carts. Ben could fix anything with an engine. He had a brilliant mind for tuning drag cars, building hot rods and custom cars. He opened his own business with BDE Solutions and worked so hard doing what he loved. He was in his element being at the racetrack helping his friends who raced. He raced some himself as well, but truly enjoyed working on cars and being a part of the team. Being at the race track with his friends was definitely his “Happy Place”.
Ben had a BIG grin, contagious laugh, and mischievous soul. Ben’s quirky sense of humor kept us all laughing. His sweet smile will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Ben’s best friend was his dad. Ben called his Dad EVERY day between 11-1 to check in. They shared a passion for cars, racing and always helping others. They watched countless hours of you tube videos on many topics including WWII, airplanes, motorcycles, boating, racing and much more. Ben retained everything he heard or saw and wanted to share his knowledge with anyone that would listen. He loved his mom and her cooking. She enjoyed cooking his favorite foods and he would always say her homemade chicken salad on her homemade sourdough bread was “money”. He loved just being with family. He was the heart of the family.
He will be missed by all that knew him!
Ben will be lovingly remembered by his parents, sister, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and other extended family and friends.
A Service Celebrating Ben’s life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Reedy Creek Baptist Church in Cary, NC. The family will have a short reception following the service at the church sharing a few of Ben’s favorite treats.
