Barbara was born on May 30, 1941 in Lumberton, NC to the late Thetis Wilkins. She was a graduate of McColl High School and Gardner-Webb University. For 20 years she traveled around the East coast with her husband, Ed, while he was in the Navy. Upon his retirement, they settled in Hamlet, NC. During her career, she served as a Long-Term Care Ombudsman for Richmond and Moore counties and later as an adult education teacher for Richmond Community College. Upon her retirement, she moved to Cherry Grove, SC. She was a very independent woman who loved to read and go junking (hunt for antiques), but her greatest joy later in life was her six grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Ed Clark and her mother, Thetis Wilkins.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Edward Clark; daughter, Lori Heavner (Richard); sister, Fay Cicchetti (Tony); niece, Melissa Paradis (Bob) and grandchildren, Graham and Terry Clark; Zachary (Sara), Ryan, Jonathan and Nate Heavner.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Gardens of Faith, 5190 Fayetteville Rd, Lumberton, NC 28360.
