Rick was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed the cool fall evenings, and you would often find him hanging out in his driveway by his pickup truck. He is remembered by many for his sarcastic sense of humor, and that he always put up a good argument.
Rick is survived by his son, Marty; daughters, Melissa (Chris) Salls and Mindy (Hutch) Earl; siblings, Carolyn (Kenny) Johanson, Sandy Halliday, Jerry Gronau, Diane (Mark) Christian, Linda Urueta; 6 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Rick is preceded in death by his father, Walter Gronau; mother, Josephine (Neidhart) Gronau, and sister Mary Gronau.
Memorial Service will be 9:30 am Friday, July 26, 2024, at Eagle Brook Church, Ham Lake Campus (1503 157th Ave., Ham Lake followed by a Celebration of Life at Coon Lake County Park (5450 197th Ave. NE, Columbus) Pavilion #1 starting at 12 noon.
