She is preceded in passing by her sisters Gale Lynn Allen, Carol Ann Allen, Lucinda Allen, Evonne McConnel and brother Reginald McConnell.
Debbie spent her life taking care of others in the community. Working at shelters as an advocate on behalf of those experiencing homelessness and living with HIV & AIDS were her contributions. She was highly respected and regarded for her work. Being a leader and a changemaker, Debbie represented so much for so many people and never asked for acknowledgment, only for better resources in community. She loved her communities at St. Stephens & Clare Housing, and they loved her back.
Debbie’s greatest accomplishment came from her role as a mother and grandmother. Her grandkids were her absolute happiest place. She shared in every adventure with each of her grandkids and never missed an opportunity to show up and support what they were doing. She loved food, the casino, going to the movies, the color blue and milk duds that she called boogers to her grandkids.
Debbie is survived by her daughters, Alicia Allen, ShaVonda Allen, and Dionne Allen; grandchildren, Joy Allen, Jordyn Cooke, Jayden Brown, Jayce Clanton, Jay’Da Brown, Jay’Resse Brown, Javayah Brown, Jeremyah Brown; siblings, Mary Allen, Beverly, Arnetta, Vicky, Veronica, Albert; nieces and nephews, Tony Rowe, Christopher Rowe, KeShawn Rowe, Carmin, Christopher, Semika, Whitney, Marlon, Marqita, Eric and many other family members and friends.
