Brian was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and moved to Woodbury, MN when he was 3. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Brian worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific for 16 years as a software engineer, specializing in equipment development and testing.
Brian was an outstanding engineer who loved his job. He will forever be remembered for his good sense of humor, kindness to others and his easy going personality. He was fluent in Spanish and loved playing video games, card games, bowling, and spending time with family & friends.
He is preceded in passing by his grandparents, Warren and Judy Detwiler, Wilbur and Mildred Peppler and cousin, Samuel Detwiler.
Brian is survived by his parents, Richard (Sherry Munyon) Detwiler, and Noreen (Richard) Olin; sister, Allie Rose (aka Carrie Boes); step-brothers, John (Chanel) Olin and Tony (Andrea) Munyon; step-sisters, Briana Munyon and Jennifer (Brett) Casey; nephew, Zack Boes; step-nephews, Henry and Emmett Casey; step-nieces, Audrey Munyon, Emilia Casey, Lily and Sophie Olin; uncles, Ronald and Dennis Peppler, Roy (Carolyn) and Jim (Mary Ellen) Detwiler; aunt, Anne (Doug) Benham; his cousins Wendy (Justin) Summers, Emily (Phil) Wrenbeck, Jill (Ricky) Slemons, Jason Detwiler, Tommy, Andrew and Lindsey Benham; former spouse, Ana Milena Potes Figueroa; and many other family members and friends.
Please join us to Celebrate Brian's Life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, 3 - 6:30 pm, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Visitation from 3 to 4 pm, with Service of Remembrance at 4:00 pm with social time and a light meal to follow.
