Mr. Richie was a member of Harvest Church for 44 years. He helped build three churches, two in Anniston, and one in Mt. Washington in Kentucky. He sang in the church choir for over 20 years, and he drove the church bus and preached in the Jacksonville nursing home for many years. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. He was a caring person who helped his friends and family when he could, becoming a caregiver and beloved father figure for all his nieces and nephews. He loved his church, and Sunday was his favorite day to worship The Lord. He never met a stranger, and always took to anyone he met.
Early on, Mr. Richie served honorably in the Air Force. He then spent most of his career at M&H Valve. He was a huge Alabama fan. He was a talented carpenter and painter for many years of his life. He loved working with wood, making bird houses, painting, and working with his hands. He was very funny, never taking himself too seriously, and always loved a good laugh.
