Paul Henry Anderson, Sr., 85, of Crownsville passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD after a brave battle with congestive heart failure. He was born on February 10, 1929 in Mechanicsville, MD. He loved to cook and enjoyed watching home improvement and cooking shows and collecting recipes. He also enjoyed telling stories of his travels as a long haul truck driver. He never met a stranger. He drove semi trucks for more than 40 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Teamsters Local #355. Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force in Alaska. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge Annapolis # 296 and the Annapolis Ruritan Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mary Anderson. Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years Dolores (Fischer) Anderson, his sister, Evelyn Diehl, Mechanicsville, MD, his son, Paul Henry Anderson, Jr. Crownsville; four daughters, Kathy Babbitt and husband Wallace, Annapolis, Donna Zindash, Thorndale, PA, Connie Blackwell and husband John, Crownsville, and Lois Meadows and husband Allan, Crownsville; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Watkins, Rebecca Blackwell, Jessica Musico, Zachary Babbitt, Bernard and Abigail Meadows and Lynn Parris; seven great grandchildren, Amira Blackwell, Hailey and Jimmy Watkins, Olivia Musico and Jack, Jason and Emma Parris; many nieces and nephews as well as numerous relatives and friends. Services are under the direction of John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Funeral Service at Taylor's, Father Flynn officiating, will be Wednesday, October 29th at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD. Pallbearers will be David Diehl, Pat Diehl, Henry Grierson, Claude Donaldson, Ken Fischer and James Watkins.
