John Thomas Hilliard

John Thomas Hilliard, 60, of Richmond, Virginia, formerly of Harwood, Maryland, passed away from unexpected cardiac arrest on March 28, 2015. He was raised in Anne Arundel County. Born December, 24, 1954, in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the son of Jack and Betty Hilliard. Like his father, John was a real estate appraiser. John was the devoted husband of his wife, Lynda Plummer. John’s first wife, Susan Hilliard, passed away in 2005. He leaves behind his step daughter Leslie and her four children; his brother Dale Hilliard, his sisters Judy Hiniker and Maurine Kostkowski, and five nephews and a niece, who were devoted to him. John attended Bowie State College, where he majored in Music. He was a talented guitar player and lover of every genre of music. He was an avid reader and gardener. John and his wife Lynda participated in dog search and rescue missions, and he always had a dog at his side. The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 8th from 5-7 P.M. at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD 21401. The service and burial at St. Mary's cemetery will be private.
