Dorothy Ann (nee Zimmerman) Freeman passed away at home on December 21, 2024. Dorothy was born on August 20, 1929 in Frederick, MD to Ralph L. Zimmerman and Bessie Cutsail Zimmerman. She had one brother, Donald. Dorothy grew up in Baltimore and Frederick graduating in 1947 from Western High School. She worked at Chesapeake & Potomac (C&P) Telephone Company in the Records Department for the Out-state Engineering Group where she met Norman R. Freeman. They were married in 1955 and moved to Annapolis. They had Pamela Sue, who passed away as an infant, Todd (Judy), Barry (Dee), two grandchildren, Todd (Diana), Pamela (Alan) and one great granddaughter Khloe. Dorothy treasured her nieces Debbie and Nancy.
Dorothy had been an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school, was a member of the United Methodist Women and served on other committees in the church. She was a lifetime member of The Elks. Her hobbies included oil painting and quilting. She enjoyed her flowers, home, family and friends.
The family gives special thanks to her caregiver, Awnya Bowman, for treating Dorothy with such compassion for the past three months.
On Friday, December 27, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church 1300 West Street Annapolis, there will be a viewing at 10:00 AM, a service at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon. Burial will be private.
