Colleen Duffy Brickley (49) of Annapolis and Columbia, MD passed away on January 20, 2019, after succumbing to a 2-year battle with lung cancer. She was the loving wife of 20 years to her husband, Ed, and the most incredible mother to her three daughters, Mairèad (16), Bridget (14) and Shannon (12). Colleen loved boating with her family on the Chesapeake Bay and days at Hazard’s Beach in Newport, RI where she returned every summer.
Colleen earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware where she also was a founding member and Vice President of the Rho Lambda chapter of Chi Omega. She continued to the University of Maryland where she earned an MBA. Colleen served as the Director of Corporate Communications for Rockville, MD based software developer, Merant, and Vice President of Public Relations to eMarket World in Richmond, VA, before leaving the workforce to raise her precious daughters.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Ed and their three children; her parents Stephen and Nuala (FitzGerald) Duffy of Columbia, MD and Middletown, RI; her siblings Patrick (wife Lynda) Duffy and Micaela (husband Todd) Crooks, of Clarksville,MD, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home in Annapolis, MD on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. John Neuman Church in Annapolis on Monday at 9 am.
