Ben was born on July 29, 1944 in Sumter, SC to Robert Burgess Guess and Roberta Thames.
He is survived by his daughter Gwendolyn Harley Guess in McKinney, TX, brother Clifton B. Guess in Virginia Beach, his wife Karen Guess of 21 years in Annapolis, his 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with Kimberly Turpin his stepdaughter and their 2 children, and Brian Lucey his stepson and their 2 children. He attended Kent School in Connecticut and VMI in Virginia.
Ben Worked in the mortgage field as President/CEO of Vista Mortgage and various other companies throughout his career. Ben enjoyed traveling, skiing, ice hockey, (especially watching the Washington Capitals), his dogs and getting together with friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
