Robert G. Ballingall

Ballingall, Robert G. age 86 of Ann Arbor, died July 4, 2016. Robert was born in Ann Arbor the parents of Robert and Christina (nee Schoolbraid). He graduated from Ann Arbor H.S. in 1947. Joined the Navy in Oct. 1948 and served almost four years on heavy cruiser USS Des Moines CA 134. Retired from Michigan State Police as Sergeant in March 1981 after over 25yrs of service. Robert returned to Ann Arbor in 1984. He was Special Deputy U.S. Marshal, Court Security Officer at the Ann Arbor Federal Building from 1985 until 2001. He was a member of Michigan State Police Command Officers Association; Michigan State Troopers Association; United States Navy Memorial Foundation of Washington, D.C.; United States Navy Cruiser Sailors Association; Life Member of AMVETS; Life Member American Legion Post 46; Life Member VFW Post 423 and Life Member VFW National Home, Easton Rapids, MI. Survivors: brother David M. (Laurel) Ballingall and sister Christina W. Ballingall; nephew David; nieces Lesley and Karen; surrogate grandson Ryan Boylan and friend and companion Judith Somers. The funeral service will take place on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 2:00PM with Entombment and Military and State Police Honors to follow at the Washtenong Memorial Park Cemetery, 3771 Whitmore Lake Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
