Joseph is survived by his wife JoAnn, his children, James (Cindy) of Indianapolis, IN; Charles (May) of Mercer Island, WA; Janet (Allen) of Ann Arbor, MI and Margaret (Robert) of Redondo Beach, CA. Loving grandfather of Meg, Grace, Ian, and Lauren; brother to Gwendolyn Corr and Marilyn Klein. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Cecile Hunter.
Joseph was born on August 29, 1928 in Lansing Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State College in 1950 with a BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Joseph served in the Korean Conflict as a Sargent in the United States Army and then joined General Motors Research in Warren, MI as a Metallurgist. Joseph and JoAnn were married on June 21,1958 and recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. During the five years following their wedding, Joseph and JoAnn moved to Rochester, MI and welcomed their four children into the family. His children remember Joe as a kind and generous father who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Joseph was an accomplished engineer and earned several patents for his work on catalytic converters while working for GM. He and his wife enjoyed family camping vacations throughout the United States and in later years, travels to Europe and Australia.
