HAVEN, JAMES FETTERLY Jim passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at age 67. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on November 9, 1946, the only child of deceased parents, Anthony and Eunice Haven. He graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1963 and subsequently enrolled in the honors program at the University of Michigan. He left academics to pursue a storied career as a stage technician in the theatre arts; he was a stagehand, a lighting designer, a carpenter, a spotlight operator, a rigger, and a "roadie" - he got his start with Ypsi Greek Theater and later was Head Carpenter on the first national tour of the heavy metal band KISS in the mid 1970s. He had retired from the University of Michigan as Senior House Technician at Hill Auditorium and other halls and was a proud lifelong member of Local 395, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. He married Elizabeth Moray in 1969 and was a widower since 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Celia Maureen Haven; step-son, Stephen Kunselman; daughter-in-law, Letitia Kunselman; and grandkids, Shane, Sabrina, Sophia, and Hannon.
