Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West 1st Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023. There will be a one-hour visitation at the funeral home before the service. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens following the service.
Marjorie Ann (Campbell) Chase was born November 10, 1928, in Ankeny, Iowa to Charles and Anna Campbell. She attended school in Ankeny. After graduation, she worked for John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny.
Marjorie married W.H. (Bill) Chase in the First Congregational Church in Ankeny on September 2, 1950. She met her husband while working at John Deere. Marjorie and W.H. had two sons, Thomas of Ankeny and John now deceased. Because of her husband's career with John Deere, they did a lot of moving, including living in Ottumwa, Iowa, Horicon, Wisconsin, Waterloo, Iowa, Orleans, France and Moline, Illinois. After retirement, they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas and later to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. They moved back to Ankeny in December 1999.
Marjorie was a member of the Ankeny Historical Society, The Ankeny Presbyterian Church and the Legion Auxiliary post 42 of Ankeny. She served as Auxiliary president for four years.
Her hobbies were sewing, cross stitching and playing bridge. She played golf and loved the outdoors, working with flowers. While living in Moline, Illinois, she worked with the P.T.A., served as a den mother for cub scouts, and was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church in East Moline. She also belonged to the International Order of Kings Daughters and Sons. In the Ankeny Presbyterian Church, she served as deacon for one term.
Marjorie Ann was preceded in death by her husband, her son, her parents, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her son, Tom of Ankeny, one sister, Marilyn Dennler of Ankeny, and many nieces and nephews.
