Dolores A. Bonish

Dolores A. Bonish, 77, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at Mill Pond in Ankeny. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First St. Ankeny, IA 50021). A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Ankeny Funeral Home with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to go towards assisting the homeless in Des Moines.

Dolores was born August 19, 1940, in Des Moines, to Frank and Anna (Griska) Bonish. She attended St. Peter’s grade school and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. Dolores worked as a supervisor in the repairs department at U.S. West Phone Company until her retirement. Dolores enjoyed bowling; she went on trips to many tournaments growing up. She also liked going to Prairie Meadows for breakfast and then spending a little time playing the slots to try her luck.

Dolores is survived by her two brothers: Frank (Joyce) Bonish of Ankeny and Victor Bonish of Clearwater, Florida; nephew David Bonish and niece, Katie (John) Schelzsle and their children Quentin and Roslynn. She was preceded in death by her parents.
