Beverly Eileen Pritchard, 69, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2019 at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First Street Ankeny, IA 50023). A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later donation of their choice.
Beverly was born on October 4, 1949, in Jefferson, Iowa to Carrol and Helena (Volkmer) Gander. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1967. Beverly was united in marriage to James Pritchard on April 19, 1968, in Bondurant, Iowa. They had one daughter, Melissa. In her free time, Beverly enjoyed fishing in Northern Minnesota and Canada. She was an avid fisherman, Bev and Jim are now reunited with their lines in the water waiting for the big bite. Bev and Jim also enjoyed racing in their final years together, traveling the country with Brett Bell Racing Team. Beverly was really proud of BOTH of her grandchildren.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Paul) Meiners of Polk City; grandchildren, Allyson Meiners of Granger and Austin Meiners of Polk City; a sister, Dee Martinson of Altoona; brother-in-law, Duane Tingwald of Bouton, Joan Miller (Richard White) of Norwalk, Jean McCarthy (Jerry) of Ankeny and Lisa Frei (Joe) of Columbus, NE, all sisters-in-law, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, parents Carrol and Helena Gander, Dorothy & Ward Pritchard, Dean & Millie Gander, Delbert & Carolyn Gander, Betty Tingwald, Rich Gander, Jerry Pritchard, Jerry Miller and Connor Frie.
