Kay Lambert, 89, passed away Friday, April 20th 2018, at Bethany Life Manor in Story City. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25th 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ames (200 Lynn Ave., Ames, Iowa 50014).
Kathryn Lee Fish Lambert (Kay), born in Maxwell, Iowa the daughter of Lee and Vesta (Greer) Fish. Kay attended a one-room school house and later attended the Colo Schools. Kay graduated in 1945 and went on to attend A.I.B in Des Moines obtaining her Associates Degree. She worked for Bell Telephone in Des Moines, and Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, she retired from the Ames School District in 1988 as secretary for 30 years.
Kay enjoyed camping, traveling, and many different kinds of crafts. She was united in marriage to Ralph Lambert in Washington in September of 1948. Ralph passed away March 5, 2007 after their 58 years of marriage.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters, Barbara, Margaret, and Betty. Kay is survived by her three sons, David (Phyllis) of Cumberland, RI, Terry (Cheryl) of San Antonio, TX, and Randal of Ames, IA, grandchildren, Jeff, Jessica, Katie, Brian, and Kristen, 7 great-grandchildren, Madeleine, Abigail, Tabitha, Avery, Samantha, Benjamin, and Audrey as well as many nieces and nephews.
