Judith Ann (Judy) Green was born on July 26, 1943, to Harold L. and Evelyn R. (Deal) Green. She lived her entire life in Ames, Iowa. Visitation will be at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th St) on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m, family will not be present during this time. A private family burial will take place at Ames Municipal Cemetery.
She attend Lincoln Elementary, Central Jr. High and Ames High graduating in 1962. She was a life member of Calvery United Methodist Church. Judy started working at Mary Greeley Hospital her senior year and stayed working in central supply, OR and serving as Transporter for over 18 years.
Judy was a Campfire Girl and bowled in a Jr. Bowling league. She was a member of the American Legion and past member of ABWA. Judy was an avid bowler, bowling in two leagues, enjoyed tournaments, enjoyed going to bowling tournaments with her mom and special friend Janet Schmidt. She attended over forty national tournaments and too many to count city and state tournaments. One of her greatest joys was being inducted into the Ames Area Bowling Hall of Fame.
Her second love was crafting and was a member of T &T at Calvary United Methodist Church. She spent many hours on ceramics, crocheted countless pot holders, making beaded banners and all kinds of seasonal crafts. She kept her family supplied with pot holders, dish balls, dish clothes, and hanging towels. Her family kept her supplied with stuffed musical animals and other animals especially moose.
Judy is survived by her sisters, Frances (Scott) Woodworth, Donna Clink and Ellen (Marvin) Geurts; many nieces and nephews, Klay (Karen) Woodworth, Megan (Guido) Colucci, Molly and Mary Hill-Woodworth, Kate and Karen Rosenzweig-Woodworth, Kari Eide, Marlene (Doug) De Zeeuw, Martin (Cheryl) Geurts; great niece and nephews, Lantana and Kate Eide, Marnie Hill-Woodworth, Daniel and Arthur Woodworth, Madison, Collin, Ella Geurts, Macie, Ben and Calla.
She is preceeded in death by her parents and grandparents, brother, Paul and brother-in-law Clarence Clink, nephew Michael Geurts and niece Amy Clink.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Calvary United Methodist Church.
