William (Bill) John Banks, 83, departed this life on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in Salina, OK. Bill was born on December 27,936 in Kansas City, MO to his parents John Banks and Catherine Wilson-Banks. Bill graduated from Lee Summit High School in Kansas City, MO. He continued with his education and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Kansas City Art Institute. Bill was a man that if he took you as a friend you had a friend for life and he was always there for you. When he loved, he loved with all his heart. Bill was a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and taught Interior Design in Amarillo, TX for approximately 40 years. He had his own business, Curb Appeal in Amarillo, TX for many years. After Bill’s retirement, he resided in Grove, OK for the last 7 ½ years and enjoyed traveling and living on Grand Lake Of The Cherokees. He will be greatly missed by his family friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents John and Catherine Banks; wife, Joann Cox Banks and his sister, Betty Shroepfer.
Bill is survived by his special friend of 15 years, Charles (Chuck) Batchelor of Grove, OK; his sons, Jeffery Banks and wife Theresa of Houston, TX, Daryl Banks and wife Kimberly Otenger-Banks of Zena, OK; grandchildren, Ally and Trey Banks of Zena, OK; niece, Catherine Wight and husband Ron of Lee Summit, MO; nephew, Mark Shroepfer and wife Ann; great-niece, Stacy Biroca; great-nephews, Scotty McBee and Ian Shroepfer; and a very large family in Scotland, extended family and friends.
