Theron Wayne “T.W.” Barnes, Sr., 76 of Amarillo passed away July 7, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories with Scott Davey of Grace Church officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home.
T.W. was born April 23, 1936 in Amarillo to Donnie and Nealie Barnes. He joined the U.S. Army right out of high school and spent 3 years serving his country. T.W. served during the Korean War and was very proud of his military service. He was in the flooring business and in the early 1970’s he started Barnes Floor Coverings and owned and operated the business until his retirement in 1999. T.W. loved the outdoors which included fishing and having bar-b-ques. He also had a passion for playing poker. Above all, T.W. loved his family and was a definite family man. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. T.W. was preceded in death by 3 spouses, Wanda Barnes in 1957, Oleta Barnes in 1993 and Patsy Brady Barnes in 2010; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. T.W. is survived by his sons, Wayne Barnes and wife Lisa, Terry Barnes and wife Stephanie, Ricky Barnes and wife Nancy and Dicky Barnes and wife Cheryl all of Amarillo; daughter, Trisha Diaz and David of Amarillo; step-daughter, Connie Couch; step-sons, Martin Holzkamper and wife Dorcus of Bedford and R.V. Holzkamper of Watts, Oklahoma; brother, Royce Barnes of Lubbock; also by 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
