Cpl. Sanchez was well known and loved across the community for his 16 years of dedicated service to Amarillo residents. Not only did he serve as an expert traffic investigator, but also throughout the community in various security settings. Amongst the difficult life of a police officer he never failed to support, cherish, and love each of his 5 children. During his free time he loved to cook for his family and friends, and if you got a chance to eat some of his cooking then you know how great it was. His loss will be felt across the community for many years to come. He was healed and handed a pair wings much too soon, but he has left a mark on this community that will never be forgotten.
Cpl. Sanchez was born on July 30, 1976, in Ysleta, TX to Miguel Sanchez Sr. and Carmen Mancillas. He married Brandi Jo Sanchez on October 31, 2008, in Amarillo.
Survivors include his mother, Carmen Mancillas of Hereford; wife, Brandi Sanchez of Amarillo; five children, Marissa Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, Mykhua Sanchez, Alexis Sanchez, and Zurii Sanchez all of Amarillo; and one brother, Richard Sanchez of Hereford.
A memorial account has been opened at Amarillo National Bank to help the family with any unforeseen expenses they may soon face and can be accessed using his name.
