Michael was born on April 16, 1950 to Herb Turner and Margaret McEaddy in Beloit, Wisconsin. He graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1968 in Zion, Illinois. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Navy, where he served 6 years and fought in the Vietnam War. He married his wife, Jenita Turner in 1985 and together, they shared 39 years of marriage. Michael worked for the City of Amarillo as an IT Specialist for 10 years. Even though Michael was known to have a dry sense of humor, he was very funny. He also had a heart of gold and was very loving and loyal. He was a very intelligent man and knew a lot of things about all sorts. He was quite the jack of all trades. As a former Navy veteran, he loved being near the water and he was always such a great adventurer.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jenita Tuner; his daughter, Margaret Turner; his step-children, Richard Webber, David Schoettler, Christina Schoettler and Melissa Zeissel; his four sisters, Sue Geffen, Kathy Potter, Carol Pye and Maggie Benavides; his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends who will all miss him greatly.
