Mary Knight, age 76, of Canyon, Texas passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. Mary was born August 24, 1947 in Canadian Texas to Truman and Myrtle Wainwright. She and her six siblings were raised in Canadian. Mary loved her family and looked forward to annual family reunions more than anything. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was a respectable collector of Coca-Cola collectibles. She enjoyed traveling in her spare time. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Morgan Knight, daughter Debra "Debbie" Seitz, brothers Alvin, Calvin and JC Wainwright, sisters Emma Wainwright and Vina Hall.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother Pete Wainwright, grandson Chris Johnson, granddaughter Porshae York and husband Keith. Great grandchildren McKinli, Harper and Stetson all of Canyon, Texas. Stepson Johnny Knight and wife Nikki of Hendersonville, Tennessee along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St, Amarillo, Texas 79109. A burial will occur Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 I-27, Amarillo, Texas 79119. A celebration of Life will occur Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 5400 Bell St., Amarillo, Texas 79109.
