Mary Lynn was born October 2, 1928 in Miami Texas to Windom and Iva Allen.
She married James George on June 4, 1954 and together they raised three daughters. Mary Lynn received her masters in education and went to work as a Teacher/Counselor for 36 years before retiring from Amarillo ISD. She was a member of several organizations which included Alpha Delta Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma, Red Hat Society, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, WTSU Alum and Retired Teachers. Mary Lynn was a strong member of the community since 1960. She was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church, belonging to the Covenant Class.
She is survived by her three daughters; Genevieve Albertson of Amarillo, Gail George of Hereford Texas, Gwen Shannon of Keller Texas, two granddaughters; Ashley Driver of San Antonio Texas and Amanda Driver of Amarillo, three nieces; Charlotte O’Brien, Carol Wayman, and Nancy Magill, two nephews; Bob Allen Phillips and Mickey Trousdale.
Mary Lynn is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband; James George and one sister; Pauline Phillips.
She will be missed by both her family and friends.
