Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Chuck Garrison officiating and Ed Arrington assisting. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ross Voyles was born Nov. 3, 1930, in Murchison. He passed away in Amarillo, on April 16, 2011. He retired from Frito Lay after 24 years. He then worked in security management at Pantex for 16 years before retiring.
Ross served as deputy sheriff in Claude for several years and as sheriff for six months. He was an active member of Oakdale Grace Fellowship, where he served as a deacon. He also owned and operated the Dairy Bee Restaurant in Claude.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Voyles.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Howry Voyles of Amarillo; two daughters, Shauna Hayes and husband Bill of Childress and Amber Martin and husband Chad of California; six sons, Denny Ross Voyles and wife Debbie of Florida, Roy Stanley Voyles of Canyon, Terry Don Voyles and wife Nila of Claude, Paul Lane Voyles and Ricky Lynn Voyles, both of Claude and Randy Scott Taylor and wife Kay of Amarillo; a sister, Earl Dean Brewer and husband C.A. of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Olivia's Angels in Care of BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105; or Oakdale Grace Fellowship, 2700 S. Hill St., Amarillo, TX 79103-6517.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 until 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
