She was born in Toquerville, Utah on February 13, 1931. She was married to Theodore James Smith on October 31, 1952. They were married for 67 years. Dorothy was a kind, loving gentle spirit that enjoyed life with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved playing board games, her favorite being Wahoo. She loved playing cards, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and having fun.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Smith, daughter Donna Lee, parents Seymour and Mabel Stapley, brothers Woodrow and LaRoy and sisters Ola, Eldora, and Carma.
Dorothy is survived by sons Don of Amarillo, Dean and wife Denise of Amarillo, and daughter Diana and husband Randy Tibbs of Amarillo. Also, three grandchildren Austin Smith, Ashley Mullin and husband Micah, Braedon Smith and wife Veronica, four great-grandchildren Kennedy and Reagan Smith, and Karsyn and Scarlett Mullin.
Family wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to our caregiver, Debbie Cox, for all her love and compassion she showed while caring for our Mom. Also would like to thank BSA Hospice of the Southwest for the care they provided over the last three months.
