Courtney Ann Egerton was born on March 11, 1975 to David and Ann Egerton in Pampa, Texas. The family soon settled down in Amarillo, Texas where Courtney attended Randall High School. During her senior year of high school, Courtney went into liver failure and was flown to Birmingham, Alabama where she received a liver transplant. Following high school, Courtney would obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. She began working at the William P Clements Jr Unit in Amarillo, Texas as an RN for the Texas Tech Medical Department in 2002.
Courtney had her first son Michael Wagner in 1994, and her second son Christopher Wagner in 1996 with her first husband Timothy Randall Wagner. Following their divorce, Courtney met and fell in love with Timothy Allen King, a correctional supervisor at the unit, in May of 2005. On August 19, 2006, at 6pm, she married Timothy Allen King at Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo. The next day, she woke up on her honeymoon in Jamaica, her dream, and they began a long and loving marriage that included her bonus son, Riley Allen King.
In May of 2017, Courtney fell ill with liver related problems and was forced to end her employment with the Clements Unit. It saddens my heart and soul that after a valiant three year battle with liver disease, Courtney Ann King lost her fight and went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Courtney is preceded in death by her mother Ann Bell Egerton, and her grandparents Don and Marie Egerton, and Tommy and Sally Littlejohn. Those left to cherish her memories are her father David and step mother Terri, her beloved husband Timothy, sons Michael, Andrew, and Riley; and many other loving family and dear friends.
