Clifton Edwin Garner 83 of Amarillo passed from this world January 3, 2023.
He was born August 3, 1939 in Childress, Texas to Clifton and Mary Garner.
Clifton graduated in 1957 at Childress High School, then went to West Texas State University in 1961. In 1963, he was employed with International Harvester Company in Amarillo. After working in several jobs as a management trainee, he moved to Chicago he joined IHC Overseas Division, where he was appointed to Republic of Singapore in charge of their marketing operations in 18 countries in Asia and the far east. In 1981, he was appointed to Istanbul Turkey as managing operations to oversee the building of new plants for manufacturing tractors, and trucks. After retirement, he returned to Amarillo to reside.
Clifton is survived by his close friend; Rosie McCampbell and her family, a nephew; Doyle Wells and wife Ladonna, great-nephew; Brenten Wells and wife Hannah of Amarillo, great-niece; Kristen Homsombath and husband Kevin of Fort Worth.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Clifton and Mary Garner. Clifton will be missed by both family and friends.
