Casey Morales Alarid, 80 passed away October 9, 2012. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with Mr. Robert Kite officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Casey Morales Alarid passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 9, 2012. Casey was born in Kersey, Colorado a few hours shy from being a New Year’s baby on 12/31/1931. He married the love of his life Mary Jane Aragon on April 14th, 1950. They were married for 62 years. He was the proud father of two children, John Cruz Alarid and Corine Aragon Alarid. He ran and operated his own business Casey’s Cement and Contracting. One of his favorite hobbies was rebuilding classic cars. Casey also loved music. He was a prominent musician in his community. His friends nicknamed him The Guitar Man. He played multiple instruments and had varied musical taste that included Country and Western, Big Band, Flamingo, Rock and Latin music. He also performed in a variety of Mariachis band throughout his entire life. His last performance was last year. Casey loved God, his family and friends. His son John had a dream a couple of nights before Casey made his transition. He was driving his dad home in a convertible car. Casey’s hair was blowing in the wind and he had his hands up in the air exclaiming, “I’m free!” How wonderful it is to know that dreams really do come true. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister and brother. Casey is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Alarid, Son, John Cruz Alarid, daughter, Corine Aragon Wright, brother, David Alarid, Son-in-law Randy Wright, Daughter-in-law Niko Alarid, granddaughters, Kressa Cain, Khara Wright, Sarah Alarid and QianMing Wang.
