Inurnment will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.
Bruce was born July 12, 1955, in Waynoka, Okla., to Roy and Betty Blevins. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1974. While in school, Bruce enjoyed playing baseball. He received an associate degree in applied science technology for electronic systems technology networks op specialist on May 12, 2000, from Amarillo College. Bruce married Nancy Heald on Dec. 12, 2009. Bruce was a truck driver before he started his career at Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Bruce retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice on Nov. 15, 2015. He loved fishing and the outdoors with his heart and soul.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Hill Blevins; and a brother, Gary Scott Blevins.Survivors include his wife, Nancy Blevins; his mother, Betty Blevins of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Hester of Amarillo and Jennifer Johnston of Portales, N.M.; a stepson, Christopher Heald of Amarillo; a brother, Mark Blevins of Amarillo; two aunts, Rita Fowlkes of Amarillo and Winona Daniels of Paso Robles, Calif.; an uncle, Howard Blevins and wife Moya Faye of La Habra, Calif.; and many cousins.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
