Boyd Edwin Deaver, 70, of Amarillo, Texas passed away peacefully in his family home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Born on April 13, 1954, in Amarillo to Herbert and Helen Deaver, Boyd was raised in his hometown and graduated from West Texas A&M University in 1975. That same year, he married the love of his life, Jolee McFather.Boyd went on to work for the Texas Water Commission before concluding his career at Pantex, where he formed valuable, lifelong friendships.
Boyd was a devoted father and husband who cherished moments with his grandchildren. He loved traveling, exploring estate sales, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events, where he was a familiar and enthusiastic presence. He and Jolee could always be found at Globe Life Field or in his living room watching his Texas Rangers! He was elated when his Texas Rangers won the World Series! His love for playing golf turned into family vacations, spending precious time with his loved ones, and making memories that will never be forgotten. His family deeply cherished him for his strong yet gentle presence. Known for his calm demeanor and measured temperament, he offered solid, diplomatic advice and was rarely quick to anger. He will always be remembered as the voice of reason and the example of unconditional love as our "Pop."
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Benjamin Deaver and Helen Deaver.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jolee Anne McFather Deaver; his son, Joshua Boyd Deaver and wife, Hillary; his daughter, Sarah White and husband, Ryan; his sisters, Vera Sharber and husband, Ronald and Vona Adams and husband, Joey; his grandchildren, Clayton White, Faith White, Ella White and Jaxson Boyd Deaver.
