On July 16, 1952, Our family was blessed with a beautiful red headed girl. When Bobbie was about 2 years old she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. This changed our families lives forever. Our mother dedicated her life to caring for Bobbie and with the help of Phyllis, our older sister, and her siblings, she was able to live at home until around 1976. Momma would never go anywhere that Bobbie could not go. Bobbie had attended day school in Amarillo and later was moved to Lubbock State School, where she resided for many years. Then was moved back to Amarillo with the help of Community Options where she lived out the rest of her life in group home settings.
Bobbie absolutely loved car rides and listening to music! She loved to go to outside and sit to eat. She had her favorite doll and her red piggy bank. Even though she was non verbal she had her way of expressing herself. Bobbie will be missed and was loved dearly, heaven truly gained an angel.
She is survived by her brother; Richard W. James and wife Gina of Amarillo, nieces and nephews; Melinda “Diane” Fay and husband Peter of Brenham, Virginia (Ginny) Caldwell and husband Henry of Pflugerville, Michael S. James of Amarillo and Ryan James and wife Debbie of Amarillo, numerous cousins.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her Parents; Jesse L. and Viola “Sucki” James, Sister; Phyllis A. James of Pflugerville, Brother; Michael James of Amarillo, Grandparents; Walter and Hattie James of Amrillo, and nephew; Thomas (Tommy) Little of Amarillo.
