Barbara Jean Franks, 84, of Amarillo, TX, went to be with the lord on January 26, 2022. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 20022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Martindale officiating. Family will receive friends on January 31, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East.
She was born in Whittenburg, TX, on December 4, 1937, to Jesse Dean and Iris Lucille Hall.
Barbara married Billy Ray Franks in Stinett, TX, on September 29, 1956. She worked for several years at ASARCO, and retired from TXDOT. She loved her flower gardens, especially the roses. She was an excellent cook and loved sharing her recipes at family gatherings. Barbara had a wonderful laugh that could be heard for miles.
She is survived by her two children, Linda Kennedy and Ken Franks, and six grandchildren, and her sister, Claudean Graves.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy, of 64 years.
