Thelma Joy Butler, age 80, of Orlando, Fl., passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2019. Thelma was born to the late David and Dolsie Butler on May 1st 1939 in Clarendon, Jamaica. She migrated to the United States in December 1966 by way of New York, where she spent 3 years as a caregiver before she began her career in Finance in 1969.
Thelma was a dedicated and diligent worker which earned her a promotion, and transfer to the Miami, Florida Branch of Nat West Bank in 1982.
She loved her family; especially her grandchildren, whom in 1997 she moved to Orlando to be closer to. Photographs of her grandchildren could always be found all around her home.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Sadly, she left behind her two children, daughter Marie (Meggie) Gordon Singh and son Steve Gordon. Grandchildren, Jastar Jr., Kimisha (Kim), Jamar Brandon Singh and Samantha Gordon. Great grandchildren, Landon, Scarlytte and Theodore. Her Aunt Daz and Uncle Roy, five brothers, four sisters, nieces, nephews and other much loved relatives and friends.
The Memorial service for the late Thelma Butler, will be held on Saturday June 15th 11am at Azalea Park United Methodist Church, located at 50 Willow Drive, Orlando, FL 32807. Arrangements have been entrusted to Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Altamonte Springs, Florida.
