Sam was born to his parents Forrest D. and Allie Dee Parker September 6, 1931, in Vardaman, MS. He graduated from Pittsboro High School, Pittsboro, MS in 1949 and Mississippi State University in 1953, with a degree in Business Administration.
In 1966, Sam moved his family to Maitland, Florida to work as a sales representative for Mueller Company. After he retired, Sam started the family business T&R Tapping Service that served his community for 30 years. Sam was a life time member of The American Water Works Association and The Southern Natural Gas Association. Sam and his family were charter members of The First Baptist Church of Maitland.
Sam leaves behind his strong and loving wife of 68 years, Thelma Letchworth Parker. Together, they had three children, Sam (Luanne), Susan (Bob) and Bob. He was a proud “Pop” to his grandchildren, Brent (Brittany), Tori (Frank), Ryan, McKenzie, Tim (Brandee), and James. He was also blessed with his great- grandchildren Liam, Grant and Beckett. He was predeceased by his angel great-grandson, Teagen. Sam also leaves loving family members in his beloved home state of Mississippi. He leaves sisters, Clarice Spradling (Bruce, MS) and Louise Ferguson (Cleveland, MS). He was a proud “Unc” to many loving nieces and nephews. Sam was a man who truly loved his family.
