Ivan Ling Mao, 84 years old, of Casselberry, Florida passed away Oct 7th, 2024
Ivan was born in Shanghai, China on Sept 16, 1940. He was married to Cecilia Mao on January 3rd, 1994.
Ivan received a Bachelor's degree from Taiwan University, his Masters degree from University of Guelph, and a Doctorate degree from Cornell University. He became an esteemed professor at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University for 28 years. He also spent several years working in Denmark and Norway on agricultural research.
Ivan, always athletic, loved all sports, music and dancing. He competed and won trophies in Country-Western Line dancing, in particular, the 2005 International Championship held in Sweden.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Mao; his son and daughter Yeni and Suann; his three grandchildren, Helena, Erika and Charlie, and his two sisters Priscilla and Flora and their families.
Funeral Arrangements will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:30 am EST. at
Salem Lutheran Church.
