He was born on July 4, 1938, to Ernest Bazel Hart, Sr. and Jackie Shuman in Lake Alfred, Florida. Bazel graduated from Groveland High School in 1957. He then joined the United States Air Force as an air policeman. He received the Good Conduct medal and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1960.
He worked in a variety of industries throughout his life. He retired as a comptroller for a local waste management company in 2001.
He was active in the Jaycees and Rotary Club for many years. He held many positions at several local churches in Clermont, Minneola and Groveland. Bazel enjoyed creating newsletters for various community organizations. He was also an avid Florida Gator fan.
Bazel was survived by his wife of 38 years, Connie Proctor Hart, his brother Jerry Villegas, his children Kristi Hirtzel, Debbie Campbell, Shellie Wood, Wendy Shippee, Jennifer Palmer, and Ashley Burgoyne, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents E.B. Hart, Sr. and Jackie Shuman, his brother Emory Burnham and his sister Milda Patricia May.
Funeral services will be held June 12, 2023, at 10:00 am at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice at 2445 Lane Park Road in Tavares, Florida.
