Virginia Esther (Fiora) Masse

On July 6, 2021, in Alexandria, VA. Dear wife for 59 years to John Masse (passed in 2017); mother of Michael, Stephen, and Donald; grandmother of Jeffrey, Nicole, and Alexander; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Born in 1935 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, she was the youngest of fifteen children of Anthony and Angioletta. Her siblings have all preceded her in death except her sister Lillian. She graduated from Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg in 1954, and she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland in 1958. Shortly thereafter she married John and they raised their three boys together in Alexandria. She was a volunteer for many years at St. Mary’s and Bishop Ireton schools and was a long-time member of the Mt. Vernon Hospital Auxiliary.

Family and friends may call Monday, July 12, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA. Mass of Christian Burial at the Basilica of St. Mary, 310 S. Royal St., Alexandria, VA at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13. Christian Burial immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery.
