IN THE CARE OF
Demaine Funeral Home
Patricia Ann McBride, 74, of Alexandria, Virginia passed away on November 28, 2021 after battling a month long illness. She was born on December 5, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri and was predeceased by her parents Thomas Watts McBride and Marion Daudt McBride.
She is survived by her sister Christine (Robert) Suzio of Madison, CT, and her brother Thomas Watts McBride, Jr. of Ballwin , Mo. She also leaves behind her nephew Robert Suzio, Jr. and his daughter Whitney of Hampton, NH; her niece Jennifer (Peter) Kilkelly and their daughter Clifden and son Peter of Guilford, CT; nieces Colleen Suzio of Milford, CT and Veronica Suzio of Branford, CT. She also leaves behind many cousins, countless dear friends and her Washington Ireland Program interns who she felt were family.
After graduating from St. Louis University in 1968, Pat moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for many years for members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Her last few years of government service were spent as an analyst for the Small Business Administration. After obtaining her Masters in Social Work from Catholic University, Pat launched her final career working with the aged.
Pat was active in her Catholic Church, spent time volunteering at a community agency, enjoyed reading, travelling, being a host parent for the WIP, and spoiling (in a good way) her nieces and nephew. Her friends looked forward to her annual Scottish Christmas Parade parties. To know Pat was to love her. She had a multitude of friends she cherished and those friendships lasted a lifetime. She will be sorely missed by many in this country and in Ireland.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory could be made to your favorite charity. Please keep her in your prayers. Rest in peace, Pat. Till we meet again.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
