Mary Doyle

Mary Doyle, 86, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on October 3, 2012. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 10, 1926, to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Higgins. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Paul Doyle, and her eight children. She was the devoted mother of Paul (Pat), Arthur (Linda), Joseph (Deb), Thomas (Miki), Mary Ann (David Woodson), Susan (Robert Larsen), James, and Catherine (Duncan Price). She was the cherished grandmother of William (Amanda), Matthew, Michael (Amanda), Joseph, Scott, Laura, John, Erik, Kathleen, Patrick, and Henry.

She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Ventevogel of Miami, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth, and brother, Edward, of Boston, Massachusetts.

Friends and family will be received at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 on Wednesday, October 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, Virginia 22309. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
