Karen Rae John, Age 65 Born January 9, 1946; Massillon, Ohio. Died May 29, 2012; Arlington, Virginia. Cause of death: Ovarian Cancer. Proceeded in death by: Parents: Charles F. John, Thelma Mae (Hinchliff) John of Perry Township, Massillon, Ohio. Survived by: Sister: Rita Woodford of Minerva, Ohio. Brother: Charles (Chuck) John of Louisville, Ohio. And many nieces and nephews Graduated Perry High School, Massillon, Ohio 1964, Attended: Bowling Green State University (Ohio) and NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College), Virginia. Karen worked as a Senior Budget Analyst for the Department of the Navy’s Strategic Systems Program. She was awarded the Directors Award for her work, being the first female to ever be given this prestigious honor. Prior to moving to Virginia, Karen worked at Eckert’s Drive-In in Canton then as an Information Operator for Ohio Bell and then for GE Credit. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, especially places connected with the Civil War and National Parks.
