Edith Wiggs Nader passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Charlotte, NC. Edith was born in Wayne County, NC, on October 6, 1927, to the late Lloyd B and Dida Davis Wiggs. She was the loving wife of the late Louis J Nader; devoted mother of Stephen Nader (Rounette) and Janet Gray (Larry); loving grandmother of Claire White (Steve), the late Tyler Gray (Laura), Ross Nader (Natasha), Corey Gray, Lauren Gray, Brendan Gray, Kendall Nader; cherished great-grandmother of Ava, Jameson, Lilly, Logan, Olivia, Blakely. She is survived by brother Rex B Wiggs (Dorothy), many nieces and nephews, and many adopted extended family members and friends who also considered her their “Mimi”. She is preceded in death by 10 siblings.
As a long-time member of the Fort Hunt community in Alexandria, VA, Edith worked as the school secretary at Waynewood Elementary and was later the bookkeeper for the family business, Village Hardware. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and her beloved Washington Nationals.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 11am-noon at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314, where a funeral service will occur at noon. Interment will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, 6600 S. Kings Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22306.
